What’s one thing you’re learning right now — professionally or personally?
Fascinated by the market pressures driving the global evolution of the TIC industry, particularly around the O&G sector
In your view, what makes a truly effective board member?
The ability to remain strategic, despite the constant pressures to turn tactical. The ability to be and remain intellectually curious and highly inquisitive in the board room, but to do so in a way that encourages debate and discussion, not that shuts it down. Ability to disagree (sometimes firmly) but to do it by bringing a different perspective.
Beach, mountains, city, or countryside — what’s your ideal getaway?
All of the above. Trying to enjoy outdoors a bit more.
What’s a small daily habit that makes a big difference for you?
Show up very early, walk the office. It is crazy what you see and learn that way.
Be early to all meetings.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
How and when to say no.
Find people that adds to your life. Avoid the negative ones.
In your experience, what differentiates great board chairs?
Ability to read the room real-time. Get ahead of conflict. Allow sufficient debate but know when is enough.
If you had an extra free hour every day, how would you spend it?
In the gym!
What’s the most unforgettable trip or experience you’ve ever had?
Too many to mention!
