Reggie Hedgebeth is currently executive vice president of external affairs and chief legal officer (CLO) of Enbridge Inc. (TSX & NYSE: ENB). Enbridge is an energy infrastructure company that delivers energy through four core businesses: liquids pipelines, natural gas pipelines, gas utilities and storage, and renewable energy. His responsibilities include overseeing legal services, ethics and compliance, enterprise security, aviation, public affairs, communications, and sustainability.

Hedgebeth previously served as CLO for Capital Group, which managed over $2.7 trillion in equity and fixed income assets globally. He also served as executive vice president, general counsel (GC), and chief administrative officer for Marathon Oil Corp. (acquired by ConocoPhillips), where he was responsible for legal, human resources, compliance, communications, government affairs, and corporate facilities. His past roles also include GC, corporate secretary, and chief ethics and compliance officer for Spectra Energy Corp.; GC for Spectra Energy Partners (since merged with Enbridge); senior vice president, GC, and secretary for Circuit City Stores Inc. (now Circuit City Corporation Inc.); and vice president of legal for Home Depot.

Hedgebeth began his legal career at King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta and held finance and commercial real estate positions at GE Capital before attending law school. He graduated with honors from Harvard Law School and Penn State University.

He currently serves on the board of directors and as chair of the audit committee for BWC Terminals LLC. He is also a member of the external advisory board of the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State and Theatre Under the Stars in Houston.

He previously served on the board of directors and as chair of the audit and ethics committee for The Brink’s Co. and was involved with the Memorial Hermann Health System, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the advisory board of The Artemis Fund. He participated in fundraising initiatives for the United Way of Greater Houston’s legal initiative and The Ensemble Theatre’s Founders Circle and served on the boards of the William Byrd Community House and the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.

Recognition includes General Counsel to Watch by Corporate Board Member magazine, Best General Counsel Award from the Houston Business Journal, and Penn State Distinguished Alumni Award, Alumni Fellow Award, and Schreyer Honors College Outstanding Scholar Alumni Award.
