Stephen L. Brown is a globally recognized governance expert, named by NACD as one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance. As Senior Advisor & Managing Director at the KPMG Board Leadership Center, he advises senior executives on board effectiveness, governance strategy, and leadership challenge.

Stephen's past experiences include leading the Corporate Governance Group at TIAA (Nuveen), practicing securities law at WilmerHale and Skadden, serving as CEO & President of the Society of Corporate Governance, and working as an associate at Goldman Sachs. He has taught corporate governance for over 17 years at Yale, Georgetown, City College, and currently at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.

Stephen serves on several boards, including the NFL Alumni Association, Signature Theater, and the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance. He earned his B.A. and J.D. with honors from Yale University and Columbia University Law School, respectively.
