Rob Edwards, Jr. is an experienced executive and board director with over 30 years of leadership and advisory experience in power to data centers and critical minerals. His career spans pivotal organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Tesla, and Edison Mission Energy, alongside key roles in government institutions including the Department of Energy where he led the administration’s efforts across and in collaboration with the White House, Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. Rob has facilitated collaboration between public and private stakeholders, leading national and global project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and other-related transactions valued at over $25 billion.

Mr. Edwards serves on the Strategic Advisor Board of  T5 Smackover Partners (a lithium and geothermal power company in Texas) and H/L Ventures, a venture capital firm in New York City. Mr. Edwards also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Clean Energy Center. Rob has also served as an advisor to leading Energy Transition Companies including Eos Energy, Brimstone, and UBQ Materials. Additonally, he served on the Boards of the Landon School and Holton Arms in Bethesda, Maryland.

Currently, he is Managing Director at Hamilton Clark Sustainable Capital, Inc., where he raises debt and equity from Institutional Investors, and facilitates strategic investments and M&A transactions. Rob has structured and closed an array of complex global transactions, including securing government financing from the Departments of Energy, Defense, Agriculture, the Development Finance Corporation, The World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

Mr. Edwards has twice served in senior roles at the U.S. Department of Energy. Appointed by President Obama as Deputy General Counsel for Energy Policy. He led negotiations for the first two Department of Energy loans, including the $5.9 billion ATVM loan to Ford and the $465 million ATVM loan to Tesla, both critical to the companies’ growth and success. 

Earlier in his career he was international trade lawyer, representing foreign companies and governments in cases before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the United States Trade Representative and in legal proceedings before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit where Mr. Edwards is admitted to practice law.

Mr. Edwards received a joint JD/MBA degree from Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received an AB from Harvard College, magna cum laude in Economics. Rob is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is also a Member of the Bretton Woods Committee.

Rob recently celebrated his 30th Anniversary with his wife Lisa Wilson Edwards who is an executive at the Federal Communications Commission and they have two children Helen and Robbie who live and work in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida respecitively. Rob is an art enthusiast and has visited museums and art galleries across the globe and enjoys Italian and French cuisine and wines.
