Larry Selzer
President & CEO, The Conservation Fund; Chair, Leading Harvest; Board Member, Weyerhaeuser
Larry Selzer is President and CEO of The Conservation Fund, one of America's leading conservation organizations—and one of its most effective. Under his leadership, The Conservation Fund has protected more than 9 million acres of working forests, farms, recreation areas, wildlife habitat, and historic landscapes valued at nearly $8 billion across all 50 states. He also brings governance experience, serving on the board of Weyerhaeuser and as chairman of the board of Leading Harvest.
Selzer has built The Conservation Fund’s reputation on a straightforward conviction: conservation and economic growth depend on and reinforce each other. The organization is known for its speed, creativity, and ability to “find the yes” in any complex conservation challenge.
Prior to joining The Conservation Fund, Selzer was a marine biologist at the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences. He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a bachelor of science in environmental studies from Wesleyan University.
