Jesse Wiley is part of the seventh generation the Wiley family associated with the company and serves as Wiley’s board chair alongside a majority of independent directors. He has a deep passion for research, learning, and knowledge with broad experience in Wiley's industries, having worked with partners and customers across the segments Wiley serves, including on content and partnership development, digital product and business development, and global M&A.

Wiley was elected chair in 2019, having served as a director since 2012 and as a Wiley employee since 2003. Before becoming chair, he worked in Wiley's research division on business development, building partnerships with academic and professional societies and research institutions. Prior to this, he worked on corporate development and strategy, international business development in Asia, digital and new business initiatives. He was also an editor and marketer of professional and academic books.
