Helmuth Ludwig is a professor of practice at SMU Cox in Dallas, teaching MBA courses on strategy and entrepreneurship. He is also an executive fellow at IESE, Barcelona, Spain, and his publications include “How Boards of Directors Govern Artificial Intelligence” and “Cybersecurity: Seven Steps for Boards of Directors”.
Ludwig serves on the boards of Hitachi, Tokyo (audit), Myers Industries (audit/NomGov), and Humanetics (chair). He is a senior advisor to Bridgepoint and Zscaler and an NACD Certified Director and Board Leadership Fellow. Previously, he served on the boards of Circor (chair), CCAM (chair), Siemens Electrical (chair), Siemens Industry, and Siemens Corporation.
From 1990–2019 Ludwig worked at Siemens: CIO (until 2019), CEO of Industry North America (until 2014), and president of PLM Software (until 2010). He holds an engineering degree from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a doctorate from Christian-Albrechts University, Kiel
