George Bell is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience leading large-scale technology initiatives, digital innovation, organizational optimization, and M&A integration in the financial services sector. He retired in 2021 as executive vice president and head of the Software Engineering Group at Truist Financial Corporation, where he provided technical leadership across the human resources, legal, and business management functions.

Prior to Truist's formation, Bell held a series of leadership roles at BB&T, overseeing critical application development and support teams while advancing client insights, financial management, CRM, payments, and information delivery. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years with Bank of America in technology leadership roles and began his career at BB&T.

Bell is an independent director of United Community Bank, Barton College, and Constellation Quality Health. He holds a master of business administration from East Carolina University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Barton College.
