Anthony Foxx

Anthony Foxx is the Emma Bloomberg Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership and director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. Foxx served as the 17th US secretary of transportation 2013 to2017, where he led passage ofthe FAST Act and advanced new policies for emerging technologies, including drones and autonomous vehicles.

From 2009 to 2013, Foxx served as mayor of Charlotte, leading the city’s resurgence following the Great Recession through investments in transportation, workforce development, and small business growth. More recently, he served as chief policy officer for Lyft, overseeing policy development, government relations and public affairs.

Foxx serves as a director of CDW Corporation, Martin Marietta, Inc., and NXP Semiconductors NV.
