Boards today are operating in an environment defined by continuous geopolitical disruption, economic uncertainty, and rapidly emerging threats—from regional conflicts and shifting alliances to supply chain instability, cyber risks, and non-traditional actors. These forces are no longer episodic risks; they are persistent conditions shaping strategy, capital allocation, and enterprise resilience.
At the same time, the pace of disruption is accelerating. Directors are increasingly required to make high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, often without the luxury of traditional processes or extended deliberation. This raises a critical question: Has the role of the board fundamentally shifted from oversight to real-time strategic engagement during periods of crisis?
This program will explore how boards can move beyond viewing geopolitics as a compliance or risk-reporting exercise and instead integrate it into core strategic decision-making. The discussion will focus on how leading boards are building “geopolitical sensing” capabilities, applying scenario planning in practical ways, and developing rapid response frameworks to act decisively under pressure. Panelists will share real-world experiences navigating fluid, high-risk environments and offer actionable insights into how boards can strengthen resilience, anticipate second-order impacts, and guide organizations through sustained uncertainty.
