More than one third of directors (33.5%) cite a lack of technology expertise in the boardroom as a major barrier to their boards’ oversight of technology. In fact, more than a quarter of private company respondents (26%) are only “slightly confident” that their fellow board members understand the implications of transformative technologies on their organization's growth strategy, while 13 percent are “not confident at all.”
