Key Insights

The materials provided to the board in advance of meetings (referred to as “board packs”) are critical to preparing and informing directors, but survey data show there is room for improvement. When it comes to the overall effectiveness of board packs, only about half of respondents (53%) rated their board packs as “very” or “extremely” effective. Perhaps tellingly, less than half (49%) of respondents rated these resources as “very” or “extremely” effective at enabling strategic discussion in the boardroom.
