Herman Bulls leads with selflessness, integrity, informed judgment, and mentorship. He is currently chair of Fluence Energy and vice chair of USAA and the West Point Association of Graduates. He also serves on the boards of Host Hotels & Resorts, Comfort Systems USA, and Collegis Education, and on the US Department of Defense’s defense policy board, the American Red Cross board of governors, and New York State Teachers’ Retirement System’s real estate advisory committee. He is director emeritus of the Military Bowl and former director of Tyco International, Exelis Inc., Computer Sciences Corp., American Campus Communities, and C.A. Rasmussen Inc.
Bulls has worked for JLL since 1989 and is currently vice chair of the Americas, an international director, and founder of the public institutions division. He cofounded and was president and CEO of Bulls Capital Partners, a multifamily financing company, and founded Bulls Advisory Group LCC, a management and real estate advisory firm.
Bulls’ career in the US Army including working in the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management at the Pentagon and as an assistant professor of economics and finance at the US Military Academy at West Point. He retired as a colonel in the US Army Reserves in 2008, after almost 12 years of active-duty service.
Bulls received a bachelor of science in engineering from West Point and a master of business administration in finance from Harvard Business School.
