Samantha Wellington is eBay’s senior vice president, chief legal officer, general counsel, and secretary, responsible for overseeing the company’s global legal department, including government relations and public policy. 

Wellington previously served as executive vice president of business affairs, chief legal officer, and secretary for TriNet. In that role, she led a team across legal, compliance, government relations, risk, customer service, sales, operations, product management, engineering, and technology, helping drive initiatives that supported small businesses and evolving workplace dynamics. Prior to TriNet, she spent 12 years at Oracle in a number of senior legal positions. 

Wellington holds bachelor’s degrees in creative arts and laws from Wollongong University, as well as a master of laws in communication and technology law from the University of New South Wales. She previously served on the boards on the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations and BSA, The Software Alliance.
