Bill Udell is chief executive officer of Control Risks and a member of the board and executive committee. He previously served as managing partner for the firm’s Security business, including strategic security advisory, risk management, and operational security support across all geopolitical, operational, and technological contexts.

Earlier, he led Control Risks’ business across North and South America, overseeing multidisciplinary teams delivering risk consulting, crisis management, security, investigations and compliance services. He also managed the firm’s Iraq business.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Udell served in a variety of positions in the Central Intelligence Agency as both an intelligence analyst and operations officer. His work included advising senior government leaders on geopolitical and counterterrorism issues and supporting intelligence operations in high-threat environments.

Udell holds an MA from Harvard University and a BA from Trinity University.
