Marla Oates is a member of the Financial Officers practice at Russell Reynolds Associates where she specializes in recruiting and assessing talent for Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Accounting Officer, Investor Relations, and Qualified Financial Expert board searches.

Oates is based in Austin, Texas, and serves clients in a range of industries, including industrial, technology, health care, and consumer. Her clients range from Fortune 500 organizations to portfolio companies of leading private-equity firms. Marla brings nearly 10 years of private equity experience and most recently served as a Director at an international energy-focused private equity firm where she relocated from Houston to London to open the firm’s first UK office. She was also seconded to advise the CEO and CFO of one of the firm’s largest US private equity investments. Marla began her career at a global investment bank, working in both Toronto and London.

Oates holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary, with Honors, and a Master’s degree in finance from INSEAD (France/Singapore). She is a CFA Charterholder.
