C. Wright Pinson

President and Chairman of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network

C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, is a nationally recognized physician executive, academic leader, and civic leader with decades of experience leading complex healthcare organizations. Over his career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), he served in numerous senior leadership roles, including CEO of the Vanderbilt Health System, deputy CEO and chief health system officer of VUMC, chief medical officer, chair of the Department of Surgery, and director of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center. He is a cofounder of Vanderbilt’s Master of Management in Health Care program.

Pinson currently serves as president and chairman of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, a 70-hospital, 7,000-provider integrated delivery network across Tennessee. A pioneering transplant surgeon, he has initiated three liver transplant programs and has authored more than 300 scientific publications. Pinson currently serves on six boards and remains deeply engaged in civic and business leadership across the state.
