Thorold Barker is an independent director at Moelis & Company, a board member at Tiger 21, and a senior adviser to AlixPartners. He is also a CEO adviser, speaker, and visiting fellow at the University of Oxford. Previously, Barker was the Wall Street Journal's editor for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. While at the Journal, he was also the masthead editor overseeing all global events and live journalism, including the CEO Council franchise. He has conducted live interviews with Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Christine Lagarde, Rishi Sunak, David Attenborough, Satya Nadella, Ana Botin, Ryan Reynolds, Antony Blinken, and Olaf Sholz. Before joining the Wall Street Journal in 2008 to recreate the paper’s “Heard on the Street” column, he was U.S. Lex Editor for the Financial Times in New York. Thorold started his career as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company.
