After a successful career in the technology industry, Dr. Vandebroek most recently founded her own consulting company: Strategic Vision Ventures. Sophie is the former Chief Operating Officer of IBM Research, and prior to that was Xerox’s Chief Technology Officer leading Xerox’s global laboratories, including Xerox PARC, Inc.

Sophie has over 35 years of cumulative board experience. She is currently serving on the boards of IDEXX Laboratories, the global leader in veterinary diagnostics, Inari Agriculture, a high-tech startup focused on 
plant breeding technologies, Revvity, a biotechnology company that provides health diagnostic and life sciences products as well as Wolters Kluwer, a global provider of professional software solutions for clinicians, accountants and lawyers.

Sophie chairs the international advisory council of the Flanders AI Research Program and is Honorary Professor at the KU Leuven Faculty of Engineering Sciences. Sophie is a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers. She has beeninducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame and elected into the Royal Flemish Academy for Arts & Sciences. She is actively involved with several nonprofit organizations including the Boston Museum of Science, Mass Audubon Society and The Trustees of Reservation.

Sophie earned a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven, Belgium and has a Ph.D. in Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
