Marna Whittington was the Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Investors Capital and COO of Allianz Global Investors from 2001 until her retirement in 2012.  Prior to that, she was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Investment Management.  Previously, she was Executive Vice President and CFO of the University of Pennsylvania, and earlier, Secretary of Finance for the State of Delaware. She is currently on the Boards of Oaktree Capital Holdings LLC and Brookfield Oaktree Holdings LLC where she serves as Audit Chair and a director of Phillips 66 where she serves as Audit and Finance Chair and on the Nominating and Governance, Public Policy and Sustainability and Executive Committees.

In her not for profit work she serves as the Chair of the Board of the Salk Institute and Treasurer of the American Philosophical Society.   She holds an M.S. degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, both in Quantitative Methods, and a B.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of Delaware.
