John R. Ingram was named chairman of the Ingram Industries Inc. board of directors in 2008, having served as vice chairman of the board since 1999. He is also majority owner of Nashville’s Major League Soccer team, Nashville SC.

Ingram is a graduate of Princeton University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English in 1984. In 1986, he received his master of business administration from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

He is deeply involved in multiple civic, educational, and charitable initiatives. He serves on the board of trust for Vanderbilt University and the board of directors for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also a member of the board of trustees for Montgomery Bell Academy and actively supports Vanderbilt Athletics and Currey Ingram Academy. Additionally, he chairs the Tennessee advisory board of Western Governors University and the Tennessee Business Leadership Council.

Ingram is married with four children.
