Ed Magee is a C-suite executive, corporate director, and combat veteran whose career spans Marine Corps aviation, global manufacturing leadership, and health-care innovation. He currently serves as chief operating officer of the Thomas F. Frist Jr. College of Medicine at Belmont University in Nashville, where he leads strategic operations for one of the nation’s newest and most distinctive medical schools.

Magee is an independent director on the board of WD-40 Co. (Nasdaq: WDFC), where he serves on the audit, compensation, and finance committees. He brings more than two decades of executive experience building and scaling global organizations across iconic brands, including Harley-Davidson Motor Co.; ABB, where he managed a $1 billion profit-and-loss; and Fender Musical Instruments Corp., where he helped grow revenue from $340 million to $1 billion over six years.

A recognized voice on governance and leadership, Magee was a 2024 recipient of a Corporate Directors Forum’s Director of the Year Award as Emerging Board Leader, named to the 2025 NACD Directorship 100™, and included on Savoy Magazine’s 2024 Most Influential Corporate Directors list. He was also named to Directors & Boards’ Directors to Watch 2026: Small and Mid-Cap Companies list and is a 2025 Presidential Leadership Scholar. He delivered a TEDx Talk, “Unzip to Flip,” at TEDxNaples in March 2026, exploring vulnerability as a prerequisite for organizational transformation.

Magee is an active veteran advocate in Tennessee, leading coalition efforts through ZeroMils’ Military Thriving collaborative to advance veteran career transitions and community integration. Earlier in his career, he co-led the campaign team behind Proposition 28, a $1 billion California ballot initiative permanently funding music and arts education in public schools.

Prior to his executive career, Magee served as a Marine Corps aviator, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel and earning the Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Air Medal. He holds a bachelor of science in mathematics from the US Naval Academy, a master of business administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a master of public administration from George Mason University. He resides in Nashville with his wife, Jamelle.
