With over 40 years of experience in accounting and finance, Keith Urtel serves as Head of Quality & Risk Management at Socorro Partners, where he helps ensure that their assurance and advisory services meet the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and compliance. Urtel works closely with teams to manage firm-wide risk and support clients across a range of industries. His background includes serving as a managing partner at EY, advising public and private companies—often global and multi-location—on financial reporting, internal controls, corporate governance, IPO readiness, and financing transactions. He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate accounting and financial management courses as an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about solving complex business challenges, fostering collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of professionals.
