Learn with Your Peers: Committee Chair Succession

Board committee chairs are critical to a board’s overall success, providing specialized leadership, facilitating focused discussions, and ensuring the implementation of key initiatives. Effective committee leadership enhances the board's productivity and efficiency in helping their organization to achieve strategic goals. However, according to NACD survey data, only about half of respondents indicated that their boards have dedicated sufficient time to committee-chair succession planning.
