With more than 40 years of business experience, Terry Grayson-Caprio is a technical financial expert and valued business strategist who has led global teams, boards, and companies through transformational change and large-scale growth. As a KPMG Managing Partner, Terry served a variety of public and private clients, specializing in industrial markets (automotive and advanced materials manufacturing), consumer markets, and international growth companies. A passionate advocate for her clients, she gained the respect of executive teams and boards for her ability to navigate challenges and take decisive action to drive results. Known for her problem-solving skills, Terry recognizes opportunities and areas for improvement. An influential member of multiple public company boards, Terry is dedicated to building inclusive communities with prosperous outcomes.

Terry currently serves on the Board of Directors of the following companies and non-profit organizations: American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AXL) serving on the Audit Committee and Technology Committee; Southern First Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFST) serving on the Audit Committee and chairing the Governance Committee; Caldwell Partners International, Inc. (TSX: CWL) serving on the Audit Committee and chairing the Compensation Committee; Winthrop University Foundation Secretary; and the South Carolina Environmental Law Project.

In her 35 years with KPMG, Terry led the audits and advisory projects for multibillion dollar organizations in the automotive industry including BMW, Michelin, Mercedes Benz, and Volvo. She partnered with global companies helping to manage growth, acquisitions, integration, divestitures, financial reporting, tax incentives, audits, IT implementation and security. She served on the National Industrial Markets Leadership Team as well as the National Partners’ Council, providing feedback and guidance to the Firm’s Chairman.

Terry is passionate about the arts, education and sustaining communities having served on boards of the Greenville Art Museum, the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Peacekeeper for the Performing Arts, the SC Environmental Law Project, and the Winthrop University Foundation. She graduated magna cum laude from Winthrop University in business administration with an accounting option and maintains her CPA license.
