Dr. Chris Bart is a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants and a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He holds the Audit Committee Certified, Risk Committee Certified, and Human Resources and Compensation Committee Certified designations. He has been named a chartered director and is cofounder and executive chair of the Caribbean Governance Training Institute and the Caribbean Institute of Directors.

Dr. Bart is the founder and CEO of Corporate Missions Inc., a private consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations excel in the execution of their strategies and corporate governance. He is also the founder of the Directors College of Canada, where, from its inception in 2003 until 2013, he served as its inaugural principal and lead professor.

Among his many qualifications, Dr. Bart is the world’s leading expert on organization mission statements, one of the most widely used management tools in the world, and how companies can use this tool more effectively to become a mission-driven organization. A retired professor of strategy and governance at McMaster University and now professor emeritus, Dr. Bart has published 190 articles and eight books, including the 10-year Canadian business best seller, A Tale of Two Employees and the Person Who Wanted to Lead Them, as well as the widely acclaimed publication 20 Essential Questions Corporate Directors Should Ask About Strategy, now in its third edition. He currently serves as associate editor of the International Journal of Business Governance & Ethics.

Over the years, Dr. Bart has been invited to lecture at numerous institutions throughout the world. He is listed in Canadian Who’s Who, has served on and advised many boards, and is the recipient of numerous governance awards, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his service to Canada.
